Privacy Policy

ChartBuddy is operated by Noesis Trading Co. Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy describes what data the ChartBuddy mobile application collects, how it is used, and the rights you have.

Summary in one line

ChartBuddy is a fully local app. We do not ask you to create an account, and we never see or store your personal information. Your progress, streaks, saved topics, settings, and quiz scores all live on your device only.

What ChartBuddy does NOT collect

For clarity, we do not collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact details.
• Your location, IP address, or browsing history.
• Your trading activity or brokerage credentials. ChartBuddy never connects to your broker or reads your trading accounts.
• Photos, contacts, files, or microphone audio. The one exception is a chart screenshot you deliberately choose to attach in Ask Buddy — that single image is sent to answer your question, as described in the Ask Buddy section below, and we keep no copy of it.
• Any information about other apps installed on your device.

Ask Buddy (AI chat)

Ask Buddy is an optional subscription feature that answers trading-education questions. When you send a message, your question — and a chart screenshot, only if you choose to attach one — is transmitted securely to our server and processed by a third-party AI service to generate the reply. We do not store your questions or screenshots on our servers; our server keeps only anonymous daily usage counts. The AI service processes your message to produce the answer, retains it briefly for abuse monitoring before deletion, and does not use it to train AI models. Your chat history is saved on your device only, and you can delete it at any time from inside the chat.

What is collected by the services we use

ChartBuddy stores all of your content on your device, but a small number of third-party services receive limited, anonymous data to do specific jobs. None of this data identifies you personally, and none of it is shared with us in identifiable form.

Purchase verification

When you tap “Unlock ChartBuddy” or “Restore Purchases”, a purchase-verification service receives an anonymous app-scoped device identifier so it can verify your purchase with the store and unlock the app for you. It does not receive your name, email, or any other personal information.

Apple App Store / Google Play (payment processing)

Your actual payment is processed by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details. Refer to Apple's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy for details on how each store handles payments.

Meta (app-promotion advertising)

ChartBuddy includes the Meta SDK so we can measure how well any Facebook or Instagram ads we run perform and reach new users. Meta receives anonymous, app-scoped events (for example, that the app was opened, that the paywall was viewed, or that a purchase was completed). To attribute these to the right ad campaign, the app may also share your device advertising identifier with Meta. On iOS we ask your permission first through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can decline; the app works exactly the same either way. None of this is linked to your name or any personal information. See Meta's privacy policy.

TikTok (app-promotion advertising)

ChartBuddy includes the TikTok Business SDK so we can measure how well any TikTok ads we run perform. Like the Meta SDK above, TikTok receives anonymous, app-scoped events (app opened, paywall viewed, purchase completed) and, only with your consent through the same App Tracking Transparency prompt, the device advertising identifier. Declining changes nothing about how the app works. See TikTok's privacy policy.

Google Firebase (analytics for Google ads)

Firebase Analytics receives anonymous usage events (such as the app being opened or a purchase completing) so we can measure any Google ads we run. It does not receive your name or contact details. See Firebase's privacy documentation.

Product analytics

An EU-hosted product-analytics service receives anonymous usage events — which screens are visited and which features are used — so we can understand what to improve. It is keyed to an anonymous app-scoped identifier, never to your name or contact details.

Sentry (crash and error reporting)

If ChartBuddy crashes or runs into an unexpected error, Sentry receives a diagnostic report so we can find the problem and fix it. That report covers the technical details of what went wrong: the type of error, where in the app it happened, your device model, and the operating system and app version you are running. It does not include your name, your saved topics, your quiz scores, or anything you type. We have turned off the collection of personal identifiers such as your IP address. See sentry.io/privacy.

Children

ChartBuddy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them. The minimum age to use the app is 13.

Your rights

You can delete all your local data at any time from inside the app: Settings → “Delete all my data”. This permanently erases your progress, streaks, saved topics, quiz scores, and settings on your device. Your purchase is not affected and can be restored at any time using the “Restore Purchases” button.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of the page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
